ASSEMBLY

1. Sew the body over rounds 27 to 29 of the bottom of

the head (Picture 18). Tilt the head slightly if you wish

to give your fairy a cuter look.

2. Sew the hair to the head. The back edge of the hair

should fall between rounds 23 and 24 of the back of the

head (Picture 19). The front “peak” of the hair should

fall between rounds 14 and 15 of the head (Picture 20).

Only sew a few evenly spaced stitches around the hair

between rounds 19 and 20 to attach the hair to the head

(Picture 20, dashed lines). This will avoid puckering of

the hair.

3. Sew the buns to the hair. The base of each bun should

be sewn over rounds 8 to 16 of the hair (Pictures 21,

22). If you count between rounds 7 and 8, the buns

should be 13 stitches apart (Picture 21), and if you

count between rounds 15 and 16, the buns should be

24 stitches apart (Picture 21).

4. Sew the arms to the body between rounds 26 and 27,

7 st apart in the front. The decreases made over rounds

5 and 6 of the arms face the body.

5. Use the start yarn tail of each sleeve (Picture 23) to

first sew the sleeves to the body, over the arms. Each

sleeve should be sewn to the body, one stitch away from

either top corner of each arm (Pictures 24, 25). When

the needle comes out of the body, the needle goes

through the first stitch of Row 1 of the sleeve (Picture

25). With the end yarn tail of each sleeve, weave it into

the body through where the start yarn tail entered the

body, one stitch from the corner of the arm (Picture 26).

5. Sew the legs to the body. The flat top edge of each leg

should fall over rounds 8 to 13 of the body (Picture 27),

and just behind the midline of the body (Picture 28).

Sew a few extra stitches along the length of each leg to

hold the legs snug against the body (Picture 27).

6. Sew the wings to the back of the body, centred

between the arms. The top corners of the wings should

fall between rounds 24 and 25 of the body, 5 stitches

apart (Picture 29). The bottom corners of the wings

should be sewn between rounds 19 and 20 of the body,

10 stitches apart (Picture 29). Sew a few extra stitches

along the wing to hold them against the body (Picture

29).

7. Sew the feelers to the hair. The base of each feeler

should fall over rounds 10 and 11 of the hair, just on the

inside of each hair bun (Picture 30).

8. Sew the flowers as you wish on the fairy. In the

pictured example, three flowers were sewn in front of

the left feeler to the hair. One flower was sewn over

the dark pink band of the body on the right hand side

(Pictures 31, 32).
