Ch 1
Now Single crochet around the edges
of the piece. Make 1 Sc in each space
until you reach the tip of the nose
(the starting Ch). Place 3 Sc in this
space to get around the corner. Then
continue to make 1 Sc in each space
around the edge until you reach your
starting point (82 sts around approx)
SS in to your first stitch. Break the
yarn & pull through leaving a very long
tail for sewing
Trouble shooting – Do not worry if
you do not get exactly 82 stitches
around the edge here. What you want
is for the edging to appear tidy. A few
stitches more or less should make very
little difference overall.
The Head
Working in continuous rounds and using yarn A. Remember to use invisible decreases in this section.
Now and then place the head stipe on to the head to check sizing. It is important to keep an eye on your tension. If your tension becomes looser the head will be too big for the head stripe. If your tension becomes tighter the head will be too small for the head stripe. I would recommend making the head stripe and head in the same sitting to avoid natural variations in tension.

- (Sc x 5, Sc inv dec) x 6 (36)
- (Sc x 4, Sc inv dec) x 6 (30)
- (Sc x 3, Sc inv dec) x 6 (24)
Begin stuffing the head. Start to fill
the nose with small pieces of stuffing.
You can use the back of a pencil to
compact the stuffing down. Take your
time to ensure you get the correct
shaping. The head should be stuffed
firmly, however you should NOT be
able to see stuffing through the stitch
holes. Stuff the rest of the head as
you go.
Place the head stripe on top of the
head occasionally to make sure you are
stuffing the right amount. - (Sc x 2, Sc inv dec) x 6 (18)
- (Sc, Sc inv dec) x 6 (12)
- Sc inv dec x 6 (6)
SS, break the yarn & pull a short
length through. Weave the tail through
the FLO of row 30 to close off the
head.
Troubleshooting – What if the head stripe seems too small for the head? You can try pinning the head stripe to the head, stretching it out tightly. Then leave this overnight to encourage the fibres to stretch. Or Try crocheting another layer around the edges of the head strip.
The Body
Make 1 in yarn A and another in yarn
B. Work in rows.
Ch1 and turn at the end of each row.
Do NOT use invisible decreases.

56 & 57. Sc x 8 (8) - Sc dec, Sc x 4, Sc dec (6)
59 & 60. Sc x 6 (6)
Break yarn and pull through. Weave in
loose ends
Make 3 more leg pieces. Start in the
corners on row 1 and row 46.
Repeat rows 47 – 60 to form each
leg.
On forming the last leg on your Blue
Body piece do NOT cut the yarn. We
will continue again from this point
shortly
Joining the body together:
Start by laying the 2 layers of the
body one on top of the other. Secure
these together with some stitch
markers, making sure that the
corresponding stitches on each piece are
lined up correctly.
We will now Sc around the edges going
through both the white and blue layers
to join them together.
Continue from where you left off on
the last leg of the Blue body piece.
Ch 1 & turn.
Sc through both layers and around the
edges of the piece. Remove the stitch
markers as you pass them (258) See
diagram on next page.
Again do not worry if you do not have the exact stitch count around the edge. As long as it looks tidy and is properly aligned there should not be a problem.
The Paws
Make 4 in total. Work in rounds.
Start with Yarn C.
At the end of your row SS in to your 1 st
SC & Ch1. The first St of your next
round should be worked in to the same
St as your SS. Do this at the end of
each round until directed otherwise.
Remember to use invisible decreases
only in this section.
- Sc x 6 in to a MR (6)
- Sc inc x 6 (12)
Change to Yarn A.
Do NOT cut yarn C. You may either
chose to carry yarn C along with you as
you go or drop the yarn & pick it up
again as required in rows 4 & 5. All
Puff stitches are worked in yarn C

Stuff the paw gently so that it holds
it shape but is still soft.
Change to Yarn B.
15 & 16. Sc x 12 (12) - Fold the end of the paw flat so
that it now looks like 6 stitches on
top of another 6 stitches. Crochet
across both layers to close (6)
Break yarn & pull through. Leave a
long tail for sewing later.
The Tail
Start in Yarn A. Work in continuous rounds.
Remember to use invisible decreases in this section.

- Sc x 10 (10)
Break yarn & pull through. Weave in
loose end to secure.
Make a second piece using the above
steps using Yarn B. Do NOT cut the
thread after row 10. Now hold the 2
ear pieces together so that the
stitches line up. Crochet around the
edges going through both layers to join
them together. You will need to make
3 Sc in each of the points of the ear
as you Sc around.
Repeat the above steps to create your
second ear.
Construction
Use a whip stitch for sewing.
Sew the paws to the legs. The paws at the front (where your head will attach) should have the paw pads facing upwards. The paws attaching at the back of the body (where you will attach the tail) should have the paw pads facing downwards.
Using pink embroidery thread or 4ply embroider the nose on the tip of the head stripe.
Pin the head stripe to the head. Make sure it appears symmetrical before attaching. Sew in place.
Using black thread embroider the eyes on either side of the nose.
Sew the ears to the top of the head stripe. The visible white layer should face forward.
Sew the tail closed and attach to the back of the body centrally on row 42.
Sew the head to the body. It may be attached looking forward or off to one side depending on your preference.
