Today, the new daily crochet pattern Amigurumi Mermaid Blue/Lavender Coral Free Crochet Pattern, I want to give you some information about this pattern;

MATERIALS:
• 2.5 mm hook
• Cotton yarn
(I used Schachenmayr Catania “Original”)
- cream (130), violet (113), lavender (422)
- pink (225), white (106)
• Black embroidery thread
• Safety eyes 9.00 mm
• Stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Stitch marker
I used the black thread
The mermaid is approximately 28 cm height from the head to the tail. It may vary though depending on the kind of yarn and hook size used.
You can also use any color of yarn. Feel free to add accessories to your very own mermaid.
ABBREVIATIONS:
• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• st/sts – stitch/stitches
• hdc –half double crochet stitch
• dc – double crochet stitch
• dec – decrease
• slst – slip stitch
• p – puff stitch
• BLO – use the back loop only

ARMS (x2):
Use cream (130) yarn. You need 35 gr.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x3 [9]
Rnd 3: sc around [9]
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x3 [12]
Rnd 5: sc around [12]
Rnd 6: 5 sc, puff stitch (will be a thumb) (fig1-3), 6 sc [12]



Rnd 7: sc around [12]
Rnd 8: 4 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc [10]

Stuff the arms lightly (fig 4).
Fasten off.

TAIL:
Use violet (113) yarn. You need 20 gr.
Make 2 pieces:
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]

Rnd 3: sc around [9]
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x3 [12]
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x3 [15]

Fasten off the first piece. Don’t cut the yarn of the second piece. Now we are going to connect two pieces together (fig 5). Insert your hook in next stitch of the first piece after fasten off and make a sc (fig 6). It will be the first stitch of next round (fig 7). Place your stitch marker here.



Rnd 16: 8 sc around the first piece, 8 sc around the second piece [16]
Rnd 17: dec, 4 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc, dec [12]
Rnd 18-19: sc around [12], 2 rounds
Rnd 20: use only the front loops (FLO): sc around [12]
Fasten off (fig 8, 9).
Don’t stuff the tail (fig 10).



BODY:
Use lavender (422) yarn. You need 35 gr.
Attach the yarn to the first back loop of round 20 (fig 11). Crochet starting chain, sc in this loop (fig 12, 13). It will be a first stitch of the new round and first stitch of the body. Place your stitch marker here. Make a sc in next 11 back loops (fig 14) of this round.

For next rounds, we need to move our stitch marker on the middle of the body.
Crochet 11 sc, and then place your stitch marker here. It will be the new beginning of the next round (fig 16, 17).


Rnd 28: FLO (use only front loops): sc around [40]
Rnd 29: BLO (use only back loops): sc around [40]
Rnd 30: slst in each stitch [40]
•make a slip stitch loosely (fig 18, 19).

Invisible fasten off (fig 18a and 18b).



SKIRT:
Use violet (113) yarn.
Lay the body so that the tail will be on the top and away from your face.
Insert your hook in last front loop of round 29 (fig 20). Pick up the yarn and pull it through.
Ch 6, work in back ridge loops: inc in next 5 stitches, sc in next 2 back loops of round 29 (fig 21-26). Repeat it 20 times (fig 27).








BODY:
Use cream (130) yarn.
Lay the body so that the tail will be on the top and away from your face.
Insert your hook in first back loop of round
28.Make starting chain and sc in this loop (fig 28, 29). It will be a first stitch on new round. Place your stitch marker here.



Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in each back loop of round 28, (fig 30) [40]
Rnd 2: sc around [40]
Rnd 3: (dec, 8 sc) x4 [36]
Rnd 4-9: sc around, (fig 31) [36], 6 rounds

Rnd 10: 8 sc, attach the first arm: insert your hook in 4th st after finished the arm and next stitch of the body (fig 32, 33), 4 sc (together across stitch of arm and body (fig 34-35)), 14 sc around the body (fig 36), attach the second arm: insert your hook in last 10st st after finished the arm (fig 37) and next stitch of the body, 4 sc (together across stitch of arm and body (fig 38)), 6 sc across the body, (fig 39) [36]








Rnd 11: 8 sc, 6 sc around the first arm (fig 40), 14 sc, 6 sc around the second arm, 6 sc, (fig 41) [40]
Rnd 12: sc around, (fig 42) [40]



Rnd 13: 6 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc, 2 dec, 10 sc, 2 dec, 2 sc, 2 dec, 4 sc [32]

Cut the yarn, leave a tail for closing.
How to close the end of the round: with a darning needle, insert the remaining yarn through all the front loops of the stitches on the last round (fig 43). Pull all together at once and sew to hide the yarn inside the part you are working on (fig 44).



HEAD:

EARS (x2):
Use cream (130) yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6], turn your crocheting
Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x3 [9]
Cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing.

HAIR:
Use lavender yarn.
Make sura your chains are not twisted.
Ch 45. Start in second chain from the hook: slst in each back ridge loop [44]. Repeat it 28 times.






HAIRHOOP:
Use violet (113) yarn.
Make sura your chains are not twisted.
Ch 94. Start in second chain from the hook: slst in each back ridge loop [93]. Repeat it 3 times (fig 65).
Cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing.
Weave a long pigtail as show on photos 66 and 67, then sew the two sides together (fig 68).




NECKLACE:
Use pink (225) yarn.
Make sura your chains are not twisted.
Ch 55. Start in second chain from the hook: slst in each back ridge loop [54]. Repeat it 3 times.
Cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing.
Weave a long pigtail, then sew the two sides together.
FLOWER:
Use pink (225) and white (106) yarn.
LEAVES: in magic ring: (ch 4, start in second chain from hook: sc, hdc, dc, slst in magic ring) x5, (fig 69)
Leave a tail for sewing.
MIDDLE: ch 2, start in second chain from hook: puff stitch, slst in first chain st (fig 70, 71).
Sew the middle white circle to the leaves (fig 72).




ASSEMBLING:
Put the cap to the head in diagonal. Sew the cap to the head using the remaining tail (fig 74-75)



Sew the ears to the head as show on photos 76 and 77.


Put on the hairhoop to the cap and sew it (fig 78-79).


Sew the flower on the right or left side (fig 79).
Use the cream yarn, embroider the nose 3 sts long, with black thread eyelash and eyebrow.




Fold the hair in half with 14 pieces in one line and sew them on the back of the head as show on the photos 83-86.




Sew the necklace to the body (fig 87, 88).


At last, sew the head to the body. You should sew it from the middle of the body (fig 89-91).



STARFISH
BODY (make 2 pieces):
Use light rose (246) yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (inc) x6 [12]
Rnd 3: (inc, sc) x6 [18]
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]
Rnd 5: (inc, 3 sc) x6 [30]
Rnd 6: 2 sc, (inc, 4 sc) x5, inc, 2 sc [36]
Rnd 7: (8 sc, inc) x4 [40]
Don’t cut the yarn of the second piece.

ARMS (make 5 pieces):
We have to divide the work to crochet 5 arms.
First arm:
Don’t remove your stitch marker from the second piece of the body. We will use it to point the first stitch of the arm.
Rnd 8: crochet 8 sc around the second piece (fig 2), then turn your crocheting and insert your hook in the next stitch (after finished off the last stitch of round 7) of the first piece (fig 3,4). Now our two pieces are connected.
Crochet 8 sc around the first piece (fig 5), turn your work, (fig 6) [16] The first arm will be formed with 8 sc of the second piece and 8 sc of the first piece.





Continue working the first arm:
Rnd 9-11: sc around [16], 3 rounds
Rnd 12: dec, 12 sc, dec [14]
Rnd 13: sc around, (fig 7) [14]
Rnd 14: dec, 10 sc, dec [12]
Start to stuff the arm.
Rnd 15: sc around [12]
Rnd 16: dec, 8 sc, dec [10]
Rnd 17: sc around, (fig 8) [10]
Rnd 18: dec, 6 sc, dec [8]
Stuff the arm firmly.
Close the last round in the same way as the tail of sea horse.



Second arm:
Lay the starfish so that the first arm to be on the right away from you as show in the photo. Insert your hook in very first stitch in both sides from arm (fig 10), pick up the yarn and pull it through (11). Crochet 1 starting chain, sc in first stitch. Point it as the first stitch of new round and new beginning (fig 12). Follow the pattern below:



Rnd 8: 8 sc around the second piece (fig 13), then turn your crocheting. Count 8 stitches from the first arm and insert your hook in 8 th st (fig 14, 15). Crochet 8 sc, (fig 16) [16]




Continue working the second arm:
Rnd 9-11: sc around [16], 3 rounds
Rnd 12: dec, 12 sc, dec [14]
Rnd 13: sc around, (fig 7) [14]
Rnd 14: dec, 10 sc, dec [12]
Start to stuff the arm.
Rnd 15: sc around [12]
Rnd 16: dec, 8 sc, dec [10]
Rnd 17: sc around, (fig 8) [10]
Rnd 18: dec, 6 sc, dec [8]
Stuff the arm firmly.
Close the last round in the same way as the tail of sea horse.
Use the needle close the small hole between the arms (fig 18).



Crochet the 3rd, 4th and 5th arm in the same way as the second (fg 20).
Decorate the starfish using bullion stitch (fg 21).
