Today, the new daily crochet pattern Amigurumi, Bumble Bee Free Crochet Pattern , I want to give you some information about this pattern;

NOTES FOR THE PATTERN

Instructions are written in rounds & rows, using US
terminology.
Change colours when indicated using the invisible
colour change method on the last stitch before the
new colour.
The number of stitches you should have at the end
of each round is written in the brackets like so,
(20).
Make sure you pull your stitches tight and always
use a stitch marker, or a piece of string, to mark
the start of each round.
Most importantly, have fun whilst crocheting this
pattern, and feel free to reach out if you have any

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

I have used DMC natura just cotton with the colours:

083 – Ble – yellow (1x 50g ball)
044 – Agatha – dark grey (1 x 50g ball)
087 – Glacier – light blue (1 x 50g ball)
079 – Tilleul- light green (less than 25g)
For the honey jar:
037 – Canelle – gold (less than 25g)
082 – Lobelia – rose (less than 25g)
001 – Ibiza – white (less than 25g)
Black embroidery thread
A 2.25 mm crochet hook
Safety eyes (8 mm)
Toy stuffing
Yarn needle
Stitch Markers
Pins
Scissors
Small piece of cardboard
You can use any yarn of your choice, just adjust
your crochet hook according to the yarn.

CROCHET TERMS USED // ABBREVIATIONS GUIDE
(US terminology):

Below are basic explanations of the crochet terms
used in this pattern.

CHAIN (ch) With a loop on your hook, yarn over from back to
front and pull the loop through
STITCH (st)
MAGIC RING (mr) Wrap yarn over two fingers twice forming an
X. Place the hook under the first piece of yarn and then
over the second piece of yarn. Pull the outer strand of yarn
under the first strand of the X forming a loop. Yarn over
once more and draw the yarn through both loops. Work the
appropriate number of stitches into the loop by inserting
the hook into the main circle space onto the other side,
yarning over and pulling through the space in the middle,
yarn over the hook and pull through both loops on the
hook. Once you have crocheted the number of stitches
required, pull the short bit of string to tighten the ring
SINGLE CROCHET (sc) Insert your hook into a stitch, yarn over
(I prefer to pull the yarn through with my hook on top of
the yarn to create a X effect), pull the yarn through (two
loops on the hook), yarn over once more and pull the yarn
through both loops
SLIP ST (slst) Put your hook through the stitch, yarn over, pull
through the stitch, and then pull the yarn through the loop
on your hook
INCREASE (inc / dc inc) Work 2 single crochets / or 2 double
crochets into the same stitch
INV DECREASE (dec) Insert your hook under the front loop of
the first stitch, and then under the front loop of the second
stitch. Yarn over and pull through both front loops. Yarn
over and pull through the remaining loops
HALF DOUBLE CROCHET (hdc) Yarn over the hook before going
into a stitch. Once you yarn over, insert your hook into the
stitch, yarn over and pull through. You should have 3 loops
on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on the
hook.
BACK LOOP ONLY (BLO) Work the required stitch in the back
loop of the stitch and not both loops
FRONT LOOP ONLY (FLO) Work the required stitch in the front
of the stitch and not both loops

Construction:

The legs are made as separate pieces, which
are then joined together to form the body.
All other pieces are sewn on.

Head

Insert your safety eyes between rounds 19-20,
approximately 12 stitches apart. Using black
embroidery thread, sew eyebrows above the eyes
across 2 stitches on round 17. Weave in the thread
tail once complete. Stuff the head, and continue

Fasten off and weave in the yarn tail. Add more
stuffing if required.

NOSE

Use dark grey
Row 1: start with a ch of 4. Working in the second ch
from the hook, inc, sc, 3 sc into the last ch, turn
your work slightly so you can work on the other side
of the ch, 2 sc (8)
Fasten off leaving a yarn tail for sewing.

ANTENNAE (make 2)

Use dark grey
Rnd 1: start with a mr of 6 (6)
Rnd 2: inc in all st (12)

Stuff the leg. Mark the 14th st of round 17 as we
will refer to this stitch later when joining the
legs. Fasten off and weave in the yarn tail.
Leg 2:
Rnd 1-17: as per above. Stuff the leg, but do not
fasten off, instead, continue:
Rnd 18: 12 sc, now, sc into the marked stitch of
leg 1 to join them FIGURES 3 & 4. Continue
working into leg 1 with an additional 35 sc,
work the next sc back into leg 2 in the next
available stitch (the 13th stitch), then work an
additional 24 sc back to where you started. (72)
Your legs should now be joined together, and
we will continue to form the body.
Tip: Once the body is formed, you may find there are
gaps between the legs. Use a scrap piece of yarn in
yellow to sew together any gaps formed, and weave in
the yarn tail.

The wings are not stuffed. Flatten the work and
sc through both sides to close. Leave a long
yarn tail. With your needle and yarn tail, pinch
the two sides of the closing stitches and sew the
two sides together to pinch the wing. Keep the

stinger

Use dark grey
Rnd 1: start with a mr of 6 (6)
Rnd 2: sc in all st (6)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc in the next st) x3 (9)
Rnd 4-5: sc in all st (9) 2 rounds
The stinger is not stuffed. Fasten off leaving a
yarn tail for sewing.

LEAF HEADBAND

Use light green. Start with a ch of 60. Form a circle with
your work and slst to the beginning ch to join. Make sure
your chain isn’t twisted.
Row 1: (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 4) x30
Fasten off and weave in the yarn tail.

Assembly

Antennae to the head: Sew the antennae between rounds
5-6 and 8-9 of the head. They should sit slightly above
the magic ring towards the front of the head, and in line
with the eyes. FIGURES 7-10
Nose to the head: Sew the nose across rounds 20-22,
between each eye. Using black embroidery thread, sew a
line down from the nose to round 24. FIGURE 11
Body to the head: Sew the open parts of the body and
head together. Make sure you are happy with the stuffing
before completing. FIGURES 12 & 13
Arms to the body: Sew the arms to the body between
rounds 39-40. The arms should sit slightly behind the
antennae when looking at the arms from the side.
FIGURES 14, 15, & 16
Wings to the body: Sew the wings next to each arm,
between rounds 39-40. Make sure you only sew the
pinched tip of each wing to the body, and leave the rest.
FIGURES 14, 15 & 16
Stinger to the body: Sew the stinger to the back of the
body between rounds 21-22 & 23-24. The stinger should
sit in the middle of the two legs. FIGURE 17

JAR

Use gold
Rnd 1: start with a mr of 6 (6)
Rnd 2: inc in all st (12)
Rnd 3: (sc, inc in the next st) x6 (18)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc in the next st) x6 (24)

Rnd 6: ch 1, working in the BLO, sc in all st (30)
Rnd 7: ignore the ch 1 from the previous round, sc in

Cut out a small piece of cardboard and place it inside
the jar so it sits on the base of the work. This will help
the jar maintain its shape. If you plan on washing this
item, I recommend you use plastic or don’t add it.

Rnd 14: (8 sc, dec) x3 (27) change to white on the last
st of the rnd
Rnd 15: (7 sc, dec) x3 (24)
Rnd 16: working in the BLO, sc in all st (24)

Fasten off leaving a small yarn tail. With your needle
and yarn tail, weave the yarn through the front loops
of the remaining stitches, and pull tight to close.
Weave in the yarn tail.

JAR FRILLS

Use white
With the base of the jar facing away from you, reattach
your white yarn to the last front loop of round 16.
FIGURE 19. Once attached, sc in the same stitch where
you just joined the yarn, then complete 3 hdc into the
next st, sc, slst. Continue this pattern through the front
loops: (sc, 3 hdc into the same st, sc, slst) x6 (total
times).
Slst to the beginning sc, fasten off and weave in the
yarn tail.
